A Little About Me

My name is Claire Hardesty, I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated high school from Palos Verdes High in Los Angeles, California. I’m 18 years old and from Palos Verdes, California. I am a pre-admit to the Hussman School of Media and Journalism and am currently majoring in journalism. I wrote for my school newspaper The Point in high school and held the positions of Sports Editor and Editor-in-Chief. I also co-founded my own magazine called Z Magazine my junior year of high school and continue to be involved with it currently. Journalism and writing in general is one of my most prominent passions and I hope to dig deeper into it throughout college. I also ran cross country and track in high school, I grew up a very active child. I did ballet for 10 years and switched to running in middle school. Running and any form of exercise has been and always will be a great stress reliever for me. My family consists of my mom, dad, and two younger brothers. My brothers have been a huge motivating factor for me in my life as I feel inclined to always set a good example for them. I really enjoy exploring, hiking, reading, and discovering new places. I’m thrilled to get to share a piece of my story with you, and hope you enjoy.
